Daytrips from Nadi

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi

Heading with a family group to Fiji in September. We'll be spending a few nights in Nadi to explore the main island before spending some time on Mana Island.

Thinking of maybe hiring a car and doing some day trips from Nadi - any suggestions? Particularly any really nice beaches to picnic on, or nice villages to visit?

Thanks!

a drive around the island via kings road and Queens road, with a stop overnight in the north, also the Beach at Natadola is one of the best and you can access the beach without going to the Intercontinental,
to visit a village, you can't just drop in it has to be with the permission of the head of the village, but most day tours will have a village visit, and one nice trip is up the Navua river, lots of waterfalls, a village tour and stop for lunch, the zip line is also good , there are interesting fruit and veg markets at lots of the places, the one in Suva on a Saturday for instance,

most of the roads into the interior may not be allowed with a hire car, as they are winding, steep and rough.

I second the beach at Natadola

Natadola is a great beach, but theft is on the rise there so don't leave your belongings on the beach unguarded.
