Denarau to the Yasawa's

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi all

Been a while since I was on thorntree... wherever did the faq go?

In a couple of weeks me and a friend are going to Fiji, at one point we will be catching the ferry out to Waya island in the Yasawa's. When I was there a few years back, they tried hard to push the 'Bula pass' on you, but if you did not plan to island hop it was better to just get a one way, or a return to the island you were going to.

Can anyone tell me if it is still the same? I think the return ticket was only valid for a certain length.. I don't remember what though. Has anyone who has been there recently able to tell me?

Cheers
Deb

I don't know if my information is out of date as it is for July of 2013, but as no one else has answered this may help you out. We were able to pre book the Yasawa flyer online for travel from Denarau to Waya(Octopus Resort) return - the cost was somewhere around $600 FJD for two at that time. We booked for specific dates so cannot say if the tickets have an expiration limit or if you can get an open ended ticket. You might want to post your question on the Fiji Trip Advisor board - lots of up to date information there.

Doesn't Octopus has their own boat?

Cheers,

Thanks all! I might contact octopus and see about getting on their boat
:)

Octopus has two transfers on the resort boat from Vuda Marina, at 9 am and 2 pm. They can pick you up from Raffles Hotel, opposite the airport.
