Diving in Yasawas.. Where? How?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hi ! I'm looking at doing my PADI SCUBA Diving Certification in the Yasawas, or even Mamanucas in Mid April... Has anyone done the diving courses here? Can they recommend a Dive place / resort to do the certification through? I note that on awesomefiji.com they have some accommodation/diving deals, but you have to stay at: Out of the above list, which are the better places to go/stay? I'm 30y, used to backpacking, but looking probably to stay in a single room that's clean, comfortable & secure - nothing over the top. Mainly looking to mingle with some other people and chill out, rather than party party party. I'll be in Fiji for 10 days all up. Any ideas? Thanks, Paul.
You can also do it at Octopus | 1
I recommend Octopus - good dive operation there. They have bungalows - small stand-alone cottage, fan cooled, that use the dorm facilites. Great food and usually a good mix of people. | 2
Thanks Mandja & Marilyn, I'll definitely check Octopus out on the web... The whole "have to purchase a compulsory meal plan separately" thing seems a little strange though. Why isn't it included in the advertised price? Has anyone else actually dived with other operations... Friendly, reliable, professional? etc Let me know, with thanks, Paul. | 3
I don't know why the meal plan is listed separately, but it always has been. There is no alternative, no shops or cafes, and no kitchen for selfcatering. | 4
