Does FIJI have DISPOSABLE E-TICKET for BUS

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Does FIJI still have E-TICKET system for the local bus (open windows)? Can a tourist buy DISPOSABLE CARD from the bus driver? How does that card work? Is it like you get on a bus and Tap On your card and then you tap off again while getting off?

I also want to know what difference there is between licencesd yellow taxi and local taxi?

Still???
Has it ever had one in the first place?

"Licensed" taxis come in all colours. Only the yellow ones can pick up at the airport and they charge extra to do so. If you want a cheaper cab, walk out to Queens Road and hail one going past or coming out of the airport after a drop off. There will be plenty.
We used to get our favourite driver to wait in the airport car park for us.
Cheers,
Peter

And the buses require a tap-on card which can be bought and loaded up with credit at the Vod-a-phone kiosk inside the Nadi airport terminal close to the terminal’s exit.

There’s a TI booth near the airport’s exit that can help out with any questions.
