dry ice in Fiji?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi All,
I'm going on a rather rustic voyage through Fiji in a week, and am still trying to figure out how to keep some medication cold. Does anyone know where to buy dry ice ? Specifically, I'll probably need to get some in Lautoka/Denarau but also in Suva.
Thanks
M

Don't know about Fiji but certainly dry ice is not available in Micronesia- or if there is any it is very very difficult to come by- think it might be very very difficult if not impossible to find. I'd find a small ice chest and count on using ice cubes- more difficult but you will be able to find them. Bring a couple of those ice bags and when you can get them frozen for you. You might see if the med clinics could help out if you are nearby any of them. Best of luck- lack of refridgeration is one reason why medical care is so difficult one you are off the beaten track.

Email one of the our companies in Fiji direct, you will get it via a local and the tourism folks first come to mind, if still in need they all have offices just out of the arrivals hall in nadi.
