FAMILY FIJI TRIP IN DECEMBERCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
I am just starting to look into travelling to Fiji with the family...2 adults and 3 kids (13.7,7). Firstly would December/January be a bad time of year to go (weather)...What other things should I look into before booking a holiday. I have been told Shangri la Fijian is a good place to stay? Any suggestions on accommadation that is not toooo expensive I am hoping to get away for less than say $6000 - is that likely. Oh for 5 to 7 days. Any suggestions on a good Itinerary? Sorry lots of questions and first time user - so thanks for your help.
The Shangri La Fijian is a wonderful place for a family with kids. Lovely hotel , great beach , lots of activities. | 1
bad time. it is the rainy /colder season. plus the fijians will be practising this celebration that requires them to be naked. so, bad for your kids! | 2
What on earth are you talking about #2 - what festival? The Fijians are god-fearing christians (except for the Indians that are Hindu) | 3
Have a look at the Outrigger and the Warwick. They both normally have deals where kids stay and eat free. | 4
Shangri La is a great resort, but the outrigger is also good and the Warwick is lovely...... There is also the Naviti which is great for families although I have never stayed there I have heard good things. Dec and Jan is their summer monsoon months... there will be humidity and rain plus the risk of cyclones,, its not the best time regarding weather but xmas is a fabulous time to viist Fiji and the villages have loads of celebrations and lovo's etc... Ignore number 2's comment,,,,, They are being funny :-) | 5
