Ferries in Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I'm looking for information on ferries from Nadi area to Vanua Levu, more specifically Savusavu.
Is it better to travel to the North end of Viti Levu and catch a ferry there?
Does anyone know of a site that may have rates or times of travel?

Has anyone used or have an opinion on the ferry travel?

Also ferries or water travel from Savusavu to Taveuni.

We were going to fly, but since there will be 5 of us it gets expensive.

Thanks

New catamaran service Saturdays only 6.30am from Lautoka Wharf to Savusavu by Beachcomber Cruises Ltd.

Can anyone tell me when (days and times) the ferries run from Ellington Wharf to Nambouwalu?

What is the closest town to Ellington Wharf.

The closest town to Ellington Wharf is Rakiraki, about 10 minutes by taxi. If you're catching the local bus to Rakiraki from Suva via the east coast, then you can ask to be dropped at the intersection and it's only about 1.5km to the wharf along the road.

The new ferry service restarted in December (bigger boat) and was advertising in the Fiji Times every day with times and fares.
