Hey everyone, | ||
It might help if you said what a "slim" budget means. You will probably need at least US$ 30 per day in Fiji, and with that, stick to the largest islands that are the cheapest ones to visit. | 1
Thanks for that...yeah probably thinking $50 a day - not really sure how cheap things are there, but we hope to do it as cheap as possible but still not just scrimping by if you know what I mean - no point going anywhere if you're like that! | 2
Danny's village stay is FJD$95.00 per day which includes accommodation right on the beach and all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) which is $49.20USD per day. have a look on their website as it has youtube video to show you what it is like. only 10 paces to the high tide mark. plenty of photos to show you what you can get up to while staying there. 2hrs bus ride from the Nadi airport and this bus trip costs about FJD$10.00 one way. plenty to do if you are the sort of person to make contacts and meet the locals. trips to towns, local school, local sports games on Saturdays, local markets, fishing, snorkeling (need to take your own snorkeling gear) hope this helps | 3
Thanks for that, definitely helps and will check it out - we have our own snorkelling gear anyways, so perfect! | 4
With US$ 50 per person per day, you could travel around much of Fiji - minus the most tourist-oriented resort islands. | 5
For $50 USD per day you will struggle. Even if you do stay at a homestay you need to have extra money if you want to get there and back and get out and see more than that village can offer. You can stay at The beachouse for $32 FJD per night and that includes breakky and afternoon tea. You still have to buy additional food but you can stop at a supermarket and eat cheaply as they have a self serve kitchen. there are good affordable activities on the coral coast. Do a search using the title "Affordable Activities on the Coral Coast" Have fun :-) | 6
