Fiji Accomodation in SeptCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Can anyone recommend good accomodation in Fiji at the end of Sept for a week. Boyfriend and i are looking for somewhere romantic, chilled and child free??
I highly recommend Botaira Resort in the Yasawas (Naviti island). It's a lovely small resort (10 bures) which is locally owned and run. Gorgeous beach & surrounds, excellent snorkelling off the beach, and the staff are brilliant. Children are not discouraged although it's not really set up for them so the resort is unlikely to be overrun with them, and if any are there, you are very unlikely to be bothered by them. | 1
I'd recommend Octopus Island resort on Waya. Again there may well be kids, i doubt they would bother you though. It has a really nice beach and good food/accommodation for a reasonable price. Botaira I have heard is also very nice, although i haven't stayed there. Another option is Oarsmans Bay, which has a fantastic beach and is pretty kid free and is also owned and run by the island chief. It is west facing for some brilliant sunsets. You can get out to anywhere in the Yasawas/Mamanucas (the two island groups closest to Nadi) on the Yasawa Flyer which leaves from Port Denaru everyday. Oarsman's Bay website | 2
Oh and get out of Nadi ASAP, its not worth staying there at all. If you need to, spend one night there but get up early the next day to arrange a trip on the Yasawa Flyer (this can be arranged by any of the resorts in Nadi, just ask at reception). A bus can pick you up and take you to Denaru marina. | 3

Not sure really. Im happy with paying £50-80 a night for the 2 of us. To be honest, i would rather go somewhere people had suggested as really nice so any suggestions are welcome, cheap or a bit pricey i will take a look at both. :) | 5

Uprising beach resort is a definite. Its right on the beach, great swimming pool, food and drink and fabulously affordable private beachfront bures(beachhouses) www.uprisingbeachresort.com check it out | 7
Depends on your budget but we stayed at Matamanoa Island in February and it was great. No children and not too many people, I think the island has about 30 bures and they only accomodate 2 people so its not too busy and you can always find a quiet spot on the island anyway. | 8
what #2 and #6 said. We stayed at Octopus last month after reading the recommendatin from the lonely planet.. our friends and us are already talking of going back next year, we loved the place | 9
I would also recommend Octopus as long as you weren't going at the end of September. That is during Aust/NZ school holidays and I know for a fact that it's booked out then. They are fully booked a lot of the time so you would need to book there a long time in advance. | 10
