FIJI Advice

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi everyone,

I was hoping you could share your advice for Fiji with me.

My friend an I are going to Fiji for 10 days on a Budget backpacker trip so we will be doing mostly 1 coconut stays although maybe one or two nights 2 coconut. we hope to island hope for about 7 days.

  • what resort would you say is the best out of them all to stay 2 coconut if we have to choose just one (from reading blogs it looks like Mantaray resort would be good as they seem to have many complimentary activities?)
  • when and how should you book the 1 coconut stays, do you do it on arrival or a week in advance on hostel world?
  • Are there any hikes to do? If so where is best?
  • do you need to pay for a trip to do a village visit?

If you have any other advice and experiences, I would love to hear!

Thanks,
Julie.

Hi Julie

I hope the planning is going well. If you're looking for nice resorts on Viti Levu, there is a lot of nice budget resorts on the south side of Viti Levu. Some of these are the Crow's nest, Casablanca, or the Uprising. If you're looking to get off of the Mainland, one of the most underrated places to travel to is Leleuvia, which is an island resort and ecolodge with great accommodations. This is only a short boat ride away from Ovalau, which is a wonderful island to visit. If you would like to see any of these places more in-depth, you can check out this video here!

Hope that helped!
