Looking at taking the family there approx June/July 2007 and was wondering whether people are still jumpy and the army is on the street or if its calmed down.
Any issues with theft or assault etc?
We were looking at staying in well known resorts so probably not spending much time outside of that environment.
Cheers,
Wokka

Most of the issues were in Suva which is much further south and not near the touristy parts like the Mamanuca, Yasawa Islands or the North of Fiji.
make your reservations~!
sunny regards, shully

and besides the odd road block (which consisted of a couple of friendly fijians sitting under a tree with a kava bowl) we had absolutely no probs and the most wonderful time.. especially if you plan to stick to the resorts.. no hassels!
