Fiji for 6 days Jan 31st

We are going to Fiji Jan 31st for 6 day. I'm wondering if we should postpone our trip. Does anyone know the current conditions there? Is the flooding aftermath pretty bad? Is scuba diving any good?

Also if we do go any suggestions on an island to go to where we can do some scuba diving and relax on some nice beaches? We don't want to go far from Nadi because we have to make our flight out on Feb 6th. Suggestions on inexpensive places to stay would be great as well.
