Fiji for a family holiday and water sports....not Denarau though!Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hello | ||
Which water sports in particular? Cheers, | 1
Stand-up paddle boarding, kiting, windsurfing, kayaking. Windsurfing and SUP'ing are his main sports but it seems difficult to find anywhere involved in windsurfing. | 2
there is always windsurfing at Nananu-i-ra island, and the resort there on the windsurfing side will have accommodation with separate room for the children, though not sure what the little ones will do while Dad is doing his thing https://www.google.com/search?q=nananui+rawindsurfing&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb | 3
Have you been to Aitutaki? If not it sounds perfect for your requirements and Virgin has a pretty good deal from AUS | 4
Oh yes excellent suggestion but yes have been to aituaki. How beautiful hey :) | 5
I've been trying to find a way for nananru to work. This looks awesome. The resort there isn't quite what we are after though with kids and wanting activities/ services and nannies to help give us a holiday too. (I don't want hubby to disappear windsurfing all day if I haven't got an out either ;) ) | 6
Pidey, your husband would certainly love the windsurfing there, the wind never stops, and I think it is Safare Lodge where we stayed, and left because it was too windy for us, you could contact them as I am sure you could get a live in Nanny for the time to help with the children, You could then move on to something more child friendly and the Intercontinental at Natadola would suit all of you | 7
Thanks JB that's brilliant advice. And we could also spend a few days here then move on to somewhere lush once hubby has this itch scratched! | 8
Hello Pidey. If you haven't found what you want take a look at this website. Also the link connection below, | 9
forget Pacific Harbour, there are better swimming places | 10
Also check out http://www.leleuvia.com. They have SUP, kayaks, outrigger canoes all free for guests to use. Small island so you won't be able to lose the kids! https://www.facebook.com/leleuviapaddler In general, if nannies aren't advertised, it's always worth asking the resort, as it's pretty typical in Fiji and they might be able to arrange something for you. | 11
