Fiji in April

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Wondering about weather in Fiji in April. Planning a trip with my brother for 3 weeks starting around April 10. Have read multiple sites with opinions ranging from wettest month of the year to one of the best times to go. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Also, are different itineraries better during this time than other times during the year? Better areas to be?

Thanks!

The three most rainy months are January to March. April still gets a lot of rain as well.

April is considered the final month of Fiji's cyclone season. Earlier this year, cyclone Daphne passed through Fiji
in early April.

weather is so difficult to predict, if you are always waiting for the perfect weather you would miss out on a lot of good travelling.
i spent april- august in Fiji 3 years ago - mainly on Venua Levu and although April was hotter than the next few months it wasnt any wetter and I definitely got some great sunny days and managed a lot of great swimming, snorkelling, kayaking etc in April.

April is one of the best months to be in Fiji. The mad tourist season is over as is most of the cyclone season. I have been to Fiji five times and been through two cyclones never ever again between Jan/ Mar. Just love the place ,treat the people with respect , lovely people great place have a great time.

I spent 5 weeks on Viti Levu in May/June this year, and the dry side (Nadi) was hotter and wetter than the wet side (Suva). I've been there many times, and saw more rain on this trip than any of the previous ones. Weather patterns are changing, the whole area is hotter and more humid than it was several years ago, and, like budgetkiwi says, unpredictable.
