Fiji in August. Denaru &Coral CoastCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hi Everyone, I am traveling to Fiji in August with my parents and am finding it a bit hard to find the info I am after. We then go down to the coral coast for 4 nights at the Warwick. We have breakfast included but am wondering about dinner. I know there are places to eat at the resort but can anyone suggest some places close by that would be good? (and preferably cheaper) Also day trips and island trips from here? Would it be better to do an island trip from denaru or coral coast? What are some good places to visit in Sigatoka? Thanks!
Bula Sara! Check out South Seas Cruises (ssc.com.fj) for great day trips from Denarau (Nadi) to islands | 1
For cheaper meals from the Warwick you could take taxi into Sigatoka (15 mins?) | 2
hi Sarah when you in Denarau tyhere is lots to see in terms of island and village trip, mud bath, sleeping giant gardens, markets . If you want to close your self up in one area than sigatoka might be an ideal one. So you do day trips in Denarau and inland river kayaking, water falls ,while in sigatoka | 3
While in Sigatoka, I would recommend the Sigatoka River Safari. You will get to se a local village, eat Fijian food, have a cava ceremony and get to see all the cute little kiddies there. Plus, you get there via jet boat, which is great fun, and a sarong to wear during your village trip which doubles as a great souvineer. Also try Robinsin Crusoe Island Cruse. They also provide lunch, and a great variety of activites. They also have entertainment through the day, including Fire walking and dancing. I have also tried a few other tours there, but recommend those two above most, they are good value too. | 4
I also recommend a Sigatoka River cruise, although I much prefer going by 'regular' boat. That way you can enjoy the scenery instead of zipping along full blast. You have the options to do either, whichever floats your boat, and both ways will be an enjoyable experience. You can always catch a local bus from Nadi for day-tripping to places like Ba, Laotoka, Rakiraki, etc. | 5
