Fiji in July 2014

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi All,

Never been to the Pacific region and definitely want to feel like I am on a holiday, i.e.; nice beaches, snorkelling, etc. I am finding it a bit difficult to find reasonable charter cruises or, simply, ferry transportation that could take me directly to some really amazing islands/beaches and obviously get me back to my resort in Denarau by the evening - any time would be fine. Are there some links that people can offer me?

Also, I am coming for a wedding, so there is a possibility of organising a group charter somewhere awesome before/after the celebration, so that could be an option for a private charter cruise. Any advice on local cruises would be great.

Can anyone also advise of islands, reefs, atolls, etc. that you would suggest is an absolute must if I'm coming to Fiji for the first time?

As mentioned earlier, our resort is the Westin in Denarau, so ideally transport close by would be beneficial, but also happy to stretch ourselves a little to get somewhere extra cool. Also we are staying for 10 days with a wedding in the middle, so we should have around 7-8 days available to do stuff and although we are staying in a resort, I definitely don't want to be stuck in the resort pool the whole time so any advice on some authentic Fijian experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance,

Timmy

And here are a few moderate to upscale lodgings: On Waya Island is the Octopus Resort.(OctopusResort.com) On Nacula Island is the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort. (BlueLagoonBeachResort.com) Another great option is the Nanuya
Island Resort (NanuyaFiji.com) You can google these islands for other lodging options.

That should have been "BlueLagoonBeachResort.com.fj"

Gidday Timmy, We are getting married at the Sheraton (part of the Westin) in August and I'm looking for some honeymoon ideas after the actual wedding on one of the other islands. Did you find anything good in your research that you could recommend?
