Fiji or Vanuatu - windsurfing

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hello - my husband and I are about to welcome baby#2. Naturally (!) that has us planning a child free-week away mid to late next year but I am not sure about where to book or look but I really hope it can be Fiji or Vanuatu.

It would preferably be a lush paradise which had a windsurfable beach or SUP community/hire facilities (stand up paddle). And failing all of the windsurfing or SUP options a lush romantic island with good snorkelling would be a great alternative.

We have holidayed to Cooks & Hawaii previously but with such a limited amount of time we would like somewhere we can get to easily (so Tahiti is too far). Hubby's idea of a holiday is windsurfing every day and mine is cocktails on the beach...

A 4-5 star resort would be what we are looking for.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

for windsurfing Nananu-i-ra has what you may want, I've been there and nearly got blown away but I'm not a windsurfer. there is good snorkeling also but it was too windy for us to go. you can check this out http://www.safarilodge.com.fj/

Thanks JB - that's a great option!

I second Nananu-i-ra, the wind never stops! Lovely island as well.

if you want some luxury after all the windsurfing i would go to the intercontinental for a total relax for your wife, its a great beach as well

Excellent idea - Is the Intercntinental on the same island?

5

on the main island, between sigatoka and nadi
