Fiji super-short stopCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hey folks - I have a stop-over in Nadi on my way from the States to New Zealand, and decided to extend for a couple of extra days, just to get a taste of Fiji, which I have never visited. Any suggestions for how to have a good little check-in with Fiji in such a limited time? I'm thinking that even trying to get out to the islands is a bit much for what would essentially be two nights' stay. (Have to be back in Nadi the last night to be ready for an early-morning flight). Any recommendations for a sweet, not-too-pricey mainland stay that's not ridiculously far from Nadi? I would love to do a little snorkeling if possible. Thanks for whatever advice you can give me... If you go to Octopus Resort you can visit the village while you're there... and have a great place to snorkel and have great food. | 3
Thank you so much for this. It looks like just what I was hoping for. Really appreciated. | 4
I'd recommend Octopus too. If you're coming from the States I'm guessing you are on the flight that arrives in Nadi early morning? - then you have time to get to Denarau Marina in time for the Yasawa Flyer which leaves at 8.30am (allow about 30 minutes to drive there in a taxi from the airport) - or you could catch the Octopus boat which leaves a bit later. The Octopus boat is a direct trip with no stops, but the Flyer would give you a look at a number of other islands and resorts on the way. | 5
