Fiji Tours

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi All,
My family and I are travelling to Fiji in January for one week. Just wondering if it is best (price wise) to book tours prior to leaving or once when we get there? One of our children will be 6 months old- can anyone recommend tours that would suit us taking a baby this age? We would enjoy tours like the Cave Tour, Navua Village and Waterfall- curious as to whether or not they are suitable to take a baby? Would we need to take a car seat? Thanks

Apologies I should have pointed out that we are staying on the main island

I've done the navua village and waterfall tour, the people doing the tour will probably tell you if they think it was suitable for a 6 month old, if it was a fine day and you had a front carrying baby sling you could manage, just remember you have to get on and off the boat but there would be people to help, water can spash a bit as you go through some minor rapids, so a waterproof jacket is handy. the walk to the waterfall is a formed path.

not sure if the vehicles you would be travelling in would have a car seat anchor.

Great thanks for your response. Would you recommend booking the tour prior to arriving in Fiji or once there?

Organise tours once you are there.
You can be pretty sure that car seats for kids will NOT be available.

Cheers,

definitely book the tours when here, as that way you won't get caught with rainy weather, you could hire a car and drive around the island, there are buses but not as easy to stop at some of the interesting things. there is the Kula eco park http://www.fijiwild.com/ which is worth a visit, you will like it and the baby should as well
