Fiji Transfers - shop closed?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
I have 4 major transfers booked with a transport company called Fiji Transfers for next month. All of a sudden, their web page is suspended and I am unable to contact them. Does it mean the they have closed operations?
not sure about this transfer company but if they are no show you can get a taxi from Nausori into Suva, (get some FJ $ at Nadi airport), the taxi will have a meter and the charge is around 20fj, after your boat trip you can get a taxi to Pacific Harbour, a local taxi from the Holiday Inn suva to Pac Harbour is $40fj, or more than double that for a top quality transfer but I sent my grandson in a local taxi recently, from Pac Harbour you can get another taxi to the Warwick or ask the Suva taxi to wait for you while you are looking at the Arts Village, it is about 200fj for a taxi from Suva to Nadi airport and the Warwick is about half way. | 1
The Nadi Express bus, from Suva to Nadi town, is only $15.10 Fj (possibly a little bit less to the airport); the share mini-van is $17.00 Fj and a share taxi that takes 4 or 5 passengers is $25 - again, to Nadi town so might be a little less to the airport. You can take a 'stopping bus' as well, however I think they cost about the same as the express bus. The express buses are coaches so they also have luggage/baggage storage and the express buses are the safest way to go, traffic can be a bit mad at times and the mini vans are a tad accident prone. You can also get a local bus from Nausori to Suva and another one to Pacific Harbour, more cost effective but difficult if you have wayward luggage. I forgot to add that it is very easy (and cheap) to get around Viti Levu by public transport, however with luggage it is a hassle as the aisle is so narrow one has to walk sideways when finding a seat, which makes it nearly impossible with anything more than a carry-on. watsoff they have diving equipment from memory of past posts,, i use the express buses to travel from Suva to the Nadi and find it good, | 3
jb - yes, the express buses/coaches sure are great; fast, inexpensive, and have movies to boot. These express buses can carry luggage and diving equipment, the stopping buses not so much; one chap nearly lost his sack of rice when it kept bouncing around in the small storage area under the bus (this on a stopping bus to Laotoka). The local bus I took today to Namata had such a narrow passageway it was difficult trying to get on, let alone getting to a seat, and that was with only a camera in hand. I'm becoming a dab hand at squishing myself down aisles :-) | 4
Thanks guys, but problem solved. Apparently, their website got hacked and they had to rebuild it. It is now working again and I have received a confirmatory e-mail that the driver WILL be there as arranged. | 5
