Fiji!!! What to do???

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I will be arriving in Fiji at 5AM on the 25th and leaving at 9AM on the 28th of Septemeber.

I know it's not a lot of time, but where should I stay?

What is the most amazing natural beauty within 2-3 hours? It is a last minture trip I am putting together and I haven't had as much time to research the area as I would like. I am looking for some place cheap to stay, and beautiful beaches.

Thank you in advance for your advice, I really need it!

Go straight down to Denaurau Marina and get the 9am awesome adventure big yello0w boat out to the islands..... try waya. You can book accomodation on the boat, or just when you arrive.

Before you leave, try to do at least a bit of research on the island possibilities, and think about what your holiday priorities are.

There will no doubt be travel agents open at Nadi airport, yes even at 5am to welcome the international flights. They'll book the accom, the transport, get you to the ferry dock. This being a last-minute trip, they may help you find a vacancy somewhere.

The nice aspect of Waya island (Octopus resort has the best facilities, but likely to be booked out so not good for last-minute) is that it is quite hilly and scenic. So you can combine a bit of hiking with water activities, or just relaxing on a beach.

Some of the Mamanuca resorts are on flat-as-a-pancake islands barely big enough for the one resort propped on them. They attract people who like the holiday resort feel of these places.

You don't have a lot of time there, so I would recommend going to beachcomber island. It is fairly close to Nadi (I am assuming you are flying in there). It is an absolutely stunning island.

If Octopus is booked out, try Oarsman's but the ferry trip is 4.5 hours, so you may want to fly (costs more)

Thanks for all the helpful advice!
