Flyer timetable

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Fly into Nadi at 3 pm and looking to head straight out to Waya Island (Octopus resort)
Is the only way through Flyer departing Denaru at 8.30 am in morning and return at 6pm??
Know of any other options?

You may be able to go by floatplane or helicopter.

Also... Octopus may have their own boat. They did in 2007.

Hi - helicopter is an option but not sure about times. This is the info on Octopus's own boat service -

"Octopus's own fast new water taxi "Magic", departs twice daily from Vuda Marina the trip to Octopus takes approx 45 mins ( a few kms from the Airport in Nadi) at 9 am and also 1pm for the 40 min to 1 hour journey to Octopus and returns from the resort daily in the afternoon at 11am and 3.00 pm.

If your flight arrives in Fiji after 4pm you may need to stay one night on the mainland before your stay at Octopus. If your flight departs Fiji before 11 am you may have to spend the night before your departure on the mainland.

Magic and another vessel Amberly are available for private charter for those wanting to connect flight times outside the time windows for our regular daily runs.

Charter rate starts from $200 FJD for min 2 pax. "

  • the Flyer cost from Denarau to Octopus is FJ$100 each, so the charter looks like being a good option.

Did not realise that Island Hoppers flew out to Octopus but they do according to their website. Would be a great flight and is doable if arriving at 3pm.
From the posting above it looks like Octopus may leave their boat at Vuda Point overnight but looks like they would make a run if you were at Vuda Point before 4pm which should be possible if you arrive Nadi at 3pm.
