flying into Nadi, 5 nightsCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hi everyone. I wil be going to Fiji in the end of June. I am flying into Nadi and staying for 5 nights. I was thinking I will just stay one night in Nadi when I first get into Fiji and thats it because I have heard there isn't much to do there. I read a bunch of information on here and went to a travel agent although everything the travel agent mentioned seemed quite expensive. I was thinking of maybe just going to Beachcomber for the other 4 nights or another island. I'm not really into partying much and I basically just want to relax. I don't want to scuba dive or snorkle because I have already done a tone of that and just kinda want to lay in a hamock and read. Maybe kayacking or something if it's available. I would prefer to have my own room somewhere if it isn't too expensive. I would like to not spend more than around $50 USD a night for just to room. Good food too. I have heard beachcomber is a party island though so I'm not sure if thats where I want to go. I also don't know about getting to and from the island I choose. I got something from STA travel about packages where it is like 3 days/2 nights and they have about 10 choices of islands and it just includes accomidation and transportation. Does anyone recommend this or can I do it much cheaper? I also would like good scenery(might be everywhere though) and a clean place. Thanks, any advice is appreciated!
"I'm not really into partying much " then maybe Beachcomber isnt for you - it's reputation is that of a party place. | 1
Not only is Beachcomber a party island, it is also tiny, meaning very little to do. | 2

Hi, I am also going to Fiji in the end of June, and I was researching some places. I found this place, although I don´t think it´s 50 dollars... http://www.fijisurf.com/ But also, you may try to contact them and try some deal. This island is in the south of Kadavu and it seems really wonderfull! Good Luck! :-) | 4
Hi, i just honeymooned in Fiji for a week and we went to a place call walu beach resort on mololo island. the boat was about 80fj each way, and worth it for a ride. it is very rustic, but if lying in a hammock is your thing then this would be perfect. we had a beach front bure for FJ $95/night including meals. the resort was very quiet, there was snorkelling option, kayaking and hobiecats in the arvo, the locals would play beach volleyball. the beach was very tidal, so in high tide it was great to swim straight outside the bure, and in low tide, you could swim off the jetty. the food was funny - sometimes it was canned spaghetti for brekky, pancakes, toasted sandwiches for lunch and pasta, curry, fish meals for tea. as a vegetarian, i was well catered for. the staff were really gorgeous and helpful. hope this helps. | 5
