hi...does anyone know about something special for full moon in any island?
There are no islands in the South Pacific that I am aware of where tens of thousands of drunk, stoned, barfing college/gap year kids come to gyrate and copulate on a filthy beach to the beats of AliceDJ and Daftpunk. | 1
The fishing is pretty good a few days either side of "Full Moon" | 2
No good for crayfishing (rock lobster) | 3
I agree with #1. | 4 | |
The stars are much better during a new moon. | 5
Coral spawn just after the full mon. | 6
Crossie, the best time to crayfish in Solomon Islands is a couple of days AFTER the full moon, after the sun sets, but before the moon rises. | 7
6--Just curious, what does that mean, "coral spawn"??? | 8

Interesting! | 10 | |
In Samoa, coral spawn means palolo. A green stringy stuff that shows up once or twice a year...around Nov. Go out and gather it early in the morning before sun up....use a small hand held scoop net made of mosquio netting. It disolves when the sun comes up. A most coveted delicacy. Wonderful fried in a bit of butter and onions and served on a slice of toast or taro. Aloha | 11
