Gau and Koro islands

Is it possible to reach Gau and Koro islands by ferry?I've heard there's a ferry from Suva to Koro and then on to Savusavu.Can't find any sea connections to Gau.If you have been to these islands,what was your opinion of them?I'm mainly interested in hiking along roads from village to village,circumnavigating the island if possible.Thanks in advance for any good answers.

the SOFE run by consort shipping (3313266) serves gau and koro.
no real infrastructure there for visitors, you have to stay in villages, on the ship you can meet lots of fijians travelling back to there island, talk to them, fijians like to have guest. but dont abuse there hospitality, it is custom in fiji to compensate.

I thought there were a couple of resorts on Koro?
