Getting To the islands

Hi All,

My flight arrives at 1.15pm, can I make to Denaru Marine for the 3.15pm ferry to the islands.

How long does it take normally to clear customs.

ferry tickets are expensive, better to stay overnight somewhere like Nadi Bay Resort Hotel or the Mercure Nadi and go the next morning to the islands after a good sleep

for the extra few dollars to book a private transfer - it is worth it - to make sure you get to Port Denarau on time.

not making it on time will cost you a lot more in hotel costs or private ferry taxi to get to the islands

Clearing customs depends on how many flights are in close together and whether there is a chance of lightening, or not.
If it looks too tight for a bus (I reckon it would be), just get a taxi.
F$5 flag fall and F$1 per km.

If you are landing at Nadi Airport at 1.15pm, you will probably de-board the plane by 1.30pm. It takes around 30-45 minutes to get through customs. Your luggage is usually already on the carousel by this time. You literally grab it, walk 20 metres out the door and the taxis are just there. I always take a taxi from Nadi Airport to Denarau Marina. It takes around 35 mins and costs around F$40. Make sure your taxi has a metre and uses it! If not, negotiate the price before leaving the airport. Barter lower first!!

If you can avoid overnighting it anywhere in Nadi, do so. Definitely get to your preferred accommodations on the day and start your holiday immediately.

I have also taken over 3 hours.

It took me two and a half hour to get through customs in Nadi this July. Long queues and only two immigration officers that took their time with each and everyone.
