having trouble..Mangoes, octopus, manta rays or beachcomers??

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I am having a super tough time deciding where to stay. younger couple in fiji for 4 nights like to chill with the beach life, snorkle, explore ,sports have a good time but also relax....any of these places better than the other? as for location, food , activities??? any help would be great or any other suggestions...also do I need to book before I go?

Octopus is booked up months in advance, so if you're going soon you might have to cross them off your list.

1

All of the places you mention are great

2

you'd probably be better to go to the closest island as 2 of those days may be taken waiting for transfers etc

3

We have stayed at Beachcomber and Octopus, going to Mantaray for new years.

Beachcomber
-good fun but pretty simple (you wont need 4 nights there)
-nice snorkelling off the beach, free gear
-food is good, not fancy but its a buffet style with decent variety

Octopus (agree with 2, booking is essential)
-more stylish joint
-more scenic
-a la carte menu, tasty food
-ok snorkelling nearby
-bar is not as much fun

I've heard good things about all the places you mention, you won't have trouble with transfers, the Yasawa Flyer and South Seas boats go everywhere every day, the resorts may operate their own boats too. Mango bay is on the mainland and I assume they would run a transfer from the airport.
