Hi folks, en route to the rugby world cup in NZ next year and as part of the honeymoon, myself and my wife (as she will then be) are looking to stop for a "honeymoonish" type week or two. I am guessing this will involve the odd lazy day, opportunity for cocktails somewhere glamorous/beautiful, some kind of pampering and a chance to relax. However there are a few other things I was thinking might be interesting and I'm merely looking for some ideas about the wheres, whens and what to dos. Any info much appreciated, also any good reading info on the South Pacific to inspire or educate? Cheers
Homestay and Rugby in Fiji you can do both at Danny's Village Homestay on Fiji's Coral Coast. Make sure you plan to stay at the homestay on a Thursday (so you can watch take part in a training session) and then leave on a Sunday or Monday. This will allow to you travel with the village team to the game on Saturday. When we stayed at Danny's we travelled with the team to Suva to watch them play another village team. It was a GREAT day out. And they won which was even better. for all the details | 1
The Intercontinental in the same area will get you the pampering and some excellent diving too. Cheers, | 2
I am not sure a Pacifc style homestay would provide the sort of pampering you would want on your honeymoon. Most are basic, village-style rather than up-market. More about culture than luxury. | 3
Thanks guys, Danny's sounds great and as a rugby player it'd be great to watch some Fijian flair first hand. | 4
