Hotel in Central NadiCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Any suggestions for a mid range hotel in Central Nadi. The guidebooks offer vague (if any) descriptions only.
Don't know any, but most people do not stay in Nadi town itself. It is semi-sleasy. Try the Gateway across from the airport, or the couple on the way to Nadi town, it's only a short cab ride. | 1
Thank you Raro! I'm aware that Nadi is not the pearl of the Pacific, but I prefer some urbanity instead of a nice, but isolated location like a hotel around the airport I had several years ago during a stopover in Fiji. | 2
Well, I can understand that. But if so, spend a little more, as the cheapest ones will definitely be pretty sleazy. Security at night can be a concern, watch out for doors that don't lock on your room, etc. And carry valuables with you. | 3
Is there any mid range accommodation in central Nadi? I've only ever seen backpacker hostels. | 4
I don't recall any midrange hotels in central Nadi, not that 'central' is all that large, and urbanity is not something Nadi has. If you're seeking urbanity in even a small dose, it would be better to go stay in Lautoka. In all respects Lautoka is a more interesting place than Nadi. Better lower end accom there as well. In Nadi, there's an OK guesthouse/hotel across the street from the market/busstop, which might be the best overall option in nadi. | 5
I've found this place and another one called "Nadi Hotel" (no website). Any recommendations? | 6
Most of the hotels are near the airport, not downtown. I paid about $60 US at the Mocambo 2 years go. The room was old looking but large. The view was spectacular. A taxi to downtown is cheap. They also have a free shuttle to the airport. | 7
I remember having a look up at the temple and it was in probably what you might say was a cleaner end of Nadi - that SanBruno doesn't look too bad on their site but cannot recall seeing it near the temple, but then I wasn't looking. | 8
