Hotel in Nadi - travel to Fijian - with 2 young kids

Hello - first time poster.

We are travelling to Fiji and will land in nadi early in the morning (5am). My guess is that the sensible thing to do is to find a local hotel - any recommendations - we are are family of 4 - 2 young kids. We usually aim at mid budget - think holiday inn, best Western etc. Am i right to assume that this is a quick taxi ride from the airport?

Following a night in nadi we are travelling to the fijian on the coral coast... can anyone advise the best form of transport (cheap is good - Safety is paramount!!!

great for kids.

The Fijian is about 1and 1/4 hour by taxi friom the airport. Whatever you do, DONT get the "transfer service" as it stops at other places on the way, thus adding another 30-45mins and for 4 of you wont be cheaper.
Raffles is ok - nice bar/restaurant and pools, but at best 2 star accom - clean but basic

Mid range I would suggest the Novotel which is a short drive (5 mins) from the airport.

If you are getting in at 5.am just organise a private transfer and go straight there. Your Coral Coast resort is much nicer than Nadi resorts.

Is the Fijian the Shangri La? If so then a private transfer will take 45 mins, so not much further and then you are there. Saves unpacking for one night then up and moving again.

I do have a contact who is a local driver. His car is old but he is a safe driver, SUPER SLOW which is annoying for me as I always just want to get there.

They wont have child safety restraints as they are not law yet so finding a transfer with that will be difficult.

If you want a new car then ring yoru resort and get a quote from them :-)

The raffles is literally across the road and you can walk there in 3 minutes just out the front gate, its cheap and has a pool but do ask for a refurbed room as some are a little dated and quieter than others.
