Hotel in Nadi

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi,
I'm currently trying to book a hotel in Nadi.
The first place I tried wanted my CC number, exp date, copy of both side of my CC and a copy of my passport info page.
Maybe i'm a little paranoid, but this seems like a lot of info to book a bed for a few nights.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Or can anyone recommend a hotel were I don't have to provide a sample of my DNA to book a place to sleep.

Have always stayed at Raffles Gateway when we arrive or depart Nadi late at night or too early to get in from the islands for the flight.
Have booked over the internet many times and they never want any info like you have been asked for.

I owned a little resort in the Cooks. All we required were the full names of the guests, and a credit card/exp. date. Most used our Early Bird Special, so they had to pay up front, and this required a signed fax or signed scan.

But I've never heard of any place asking for the passport photocopies, etc. Seems like a bit of overkill.

Once you arrive you are often asked to show your passport, but to ask it in advance seems strange. Maybe the coup leaders are requiring it???

ive always been a fan of the nadi bay hotel.

I never book when I fly into Nadi. I just go over the road and check into Raffles Gateway and pay cash. There can't be many hotels in Fiji which are fully booked in the present climate.

You'd be surprised poster #4, many hotels out near the airport are fully booked some nights. I was at the Nadi Mecure for a week in October and it was fully booked many nights. I booked through a travel agency and paid them with a credit card.

the novatel walk in rate was actually cheaper than their internet rate last time i was there
