How wet are the Yasawa (Fiji) islands in October?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hiyas, I haven't been to Fiji before and wanted to take the wife over there in a few weeks as she's been a bit stressed from work. But she loves the sun and I don't want to get there to find it's raining all the time .. I read that the official 'wet season' starts in November, but does anyone know if it's already pretty wet around the first few weeks of October? If it is wet, any other suggestions of where to go at this time to find some cruisy white sand beaches? Thanks a lot, scott.
Though not absolutely predictable, Fiji isn't very wet the first few weeks in October according to climateinfo website, and the Yasawa Islands are drier than the mainland, so you have a good chance of a great holiday at that time. Hope it works out well for you and your wife enjoys a beautiful holiday. | 1
It has been unseasonally dry here for several months now and they are not predicting good rains for a couple of months yet, although it has been a bit more humid th last week or so.. Cheers, | 2
Yep, everyone is worried about the lack of rain there at the moment. We just got back from 6 days on Waya island. It rained heavy for 30 minutes one night. Other than that fine, hot, humid, and quite lovely. | 3
Just had 3 - 4 hours of good rain in Lautoka this afternoon and evening too. Stopped now. Cheers, | 4
Excellent - I would love to come back and see the islands green. | 5
