| shortyp00:47 UTC15 Oct 2007 | Hi there,
I have the option of going to Fiji on my rtw trip. I was just wondering would Fiji be a good place to get my PADI cert or would i be better waiting until i get to Australia?
Any tips on where to learn to dive in Fiji?
Thanks

Why wait? The sooner you get your Open Water certificate the sooner you will be able to dive without worrying about doing skills and you can just enjoy yourself.
Fiji would be a cool place to learn. In years to come when everyone else says they learnt in Australia or Koh Tao you can say Fiji. Also the chances are that there will be fewer students taking the course with you in Fiji so more one on one time which can only be a good thing.
There are a couple of different recommendations for doing your Open Water course in Fiji both of which are in cool dive spots away from the mian islands and both are affordable resorts.
Good luck and have fun!

It's a beautiful place to spend a bit of time, the diving is fantastic, the instructor is excellent and I think the price was very good compared with other Fiji operations. I couldn't recommend this place more highly if you want to learn to dive in Fiji.
