Is the Fiji Ferry to The Yasawas really that much?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Spending a whopping 2 nights at Octopus resort, and 2 nights at the Blue Lagoon.
So 5 days total in the Yasawas. Im getting conflicting reports on price, and how to
go about this. I know there is a website about the big yellow boat, but wanted to hear
from anyone who knows the best option. A 5 day pass perhaps? Thanks.

Yes, get the 5-day Bula Pass.

Buy it once you land in Fiji - it's cheaper that way. The currency and price on their website changes depending on the location of your ISP.

Octopus used to have own boat with hotel pick-up in Nadi. Might be worth a look for the first stage.

As Karlo says, Octopus can arrange transport on their own boat, slightly more expensive than the Flyer, but it could be better time wise, if your flight in is at an inconvenient time. The Flyer leaves only one time a day, around 8.30am, if I remember well. Pick up from your hotel in Nadi is included also.

Once at Octopus they can arrange transport to Blue Lagoon on the Flyer. It is a long boat ride to Blue Lagoon though (you'll arrive early in the afternoon, around 1pm I think) and back to Nadi (arrives around 6pm).

Have a great time, snorkeling is amazing at both places!

These are the costs I was quoted by Awesome Adventures in June this year - Transfers (Per Person) :

Denarau to Octopus = $148.00
Octopus to Blue Lagoon = $110.00
Blue Lagoon to Denarau = $166.00

I don't know the current cost of the 5 day pass but it should be on the website, so you can compare.

The cost of the Octopus boat is currently US$84.00 pp oneway. (travelled in September)

TaiMarilyn, are those 3 costs above Fiji Dollars (if not which currency please?) I think we paid about $240AUD for this trip last year.

Cheers, C.
