| emasquith1917:53 UTC18 Feb 2014 | Hi everyone, i'm hoping someone can give me some advice please... I'm planning to spend a month in Fiji as a backpacker at the end of next year. I am mainly interested in island hopping the Mamanuca and Yasawa groups, i was just wondering whats the cheapest way to do this and any useful tips please? I am a female, travelling solo, so would be nice to meet people along the way.

The website for the Yellow Flyer is "AwesomeFiji.com" As prices have risen, passage on the Flyer has become expensive-- especially for backpackers. A pass good for 5 days is US$226; 7 days is US $294 and 10 days cost $387. You need to return to Denarau Marina by the final day your pass is valid. An alternative is to book return boat fare for a single island- usually in the Mamanucas as they are closer to Nadi. With rising boat fares, a return airfare to an island such as Taveuni for about US $300 may be appealing. The sole airline making the inter-island flights is Fiji Airways. The website is FijiAirways.com
