kava

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

thank you all for your insight and help. i guess the effects of kava were slightly overstated in the novel. i thought i could communicate w/ my ancestors, trace the true path and find a way into oblivion that would not further damage my liver or my mind. too good to be true. sounds more like swigging ni-quill filtered through the bottom of a bird cage. well on to okinawa, where i hear the dissicated livers of a native lizard, mulled with a little kerosene and a pinch of lye will put me in touch with myself.

Depending on the number of bowls you consume, and whether you are in Fiji or Vanuatu (strength of brew), you would possibly find yourself enjoying new and relaxing ways of travelling down the true path! Think a lulled, smiley jaunt....

I love the stuff. In the right situation, with the right people, drinking kava can be a most calming experience.

Kerosene marinated lizard is waaaay over-rated ;-)
