leaving in 2 days...do i need to book anything?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I'm going to be in Fiji for 5 days (en route to New zealand) starting may 9th. How busy is it; do I need to prebook anything? I was originally going to just show up.

I'm thinking of going to either the Yasawas, the highlands in Viti Levu, or the Levuka area.

Thanks for any advice

its not busy at all, visitor numbers are still very low because of the coup ond foreign "smart sanctions".
lot of places only doing 50% of what they should be doing.

Just got back from Fiji and had no problems booking somewhere when we got there.

If you're flying to Nadi, go to the tourist information which is on the left as you come through arrivals. It has a big neon sign outside and one wall is completely covered with brochures from different accommodations. Tell them your budget and what sort of place you're looking for and they're really helpful.
