Lockers in Airports - Nadi and Suva

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Sorry to ask again, but the last update was in 2007!

Does anyone know if there are Lockers/ Lugagge storage rooms in Nadi/Suva Airport? How much does it cost? Opening hours? Is it reliable? Thanks!

I do not recall there being any lockers in the Nadi airport, and I don't believe the Suva airport accepts international flights. If you are staying only for part of a day you will not be able to leave the Nadi area because Suva is several hours by bus. Nadi isn't much of a town to see on it's own, and there aren't any nice beaches within close distance. There is a very colorful hindu temple in Nadi but the rest of town is very run down and dirty and not the safest area at night.

If you really only want to drop your stuff you can try contacting the Ruffles Gateway hotel, which is located directly across the street from the airport (a 2 minute walk) and ask if you can leave your stuff behind the counter....the fijians are super super nice people and they might do that for you, (they permitted me to use a room to shower and change clothes for free after I bought a very nice breakfast)

If you have most of a day and you arrive early in the day you can see about leaving your stuff at the Port Denarau bus office in the airport (or take it with you on the bus), the Port Denarau bus will take you to the marina where you can catch a boat ride out to the Mamanuca islands- it is kind of expensive ($30 usd) but you can spend a couple of hours on beachcomber island enjoying the sun, beach, young people (it is an island hostel), snorkling, and a free lunch....this is a popular option with the rich families coming out of the uber expensive resorts around Nadi.....the day boat leaves around 3ish I think and you can get back to the airport area around 5ish

Tks Mufasa; I will have just a stopover, so won´t be able to do a lot.... I think I arrive around 4 pm... and next day I have an early flight. Any options for bars/disco if I choose staying in Nadi?

When we were there in Sept 2006 there was a left luggage room in the Nadi Airport. We left our main bags there while we headed out to the Yasawas - it was located at the far back corner to your left as you enter the terminal.

Yes, there is a large locker room at Nadi airport. I left a bicycle there for a week once. Yes, it's safe. Enquire at the Information desk.

A very popular bar is Eds Bar at Martintar (on the road to Nadi), has good food, cheap drinks and usually lots of interesting characters to talk to.

when you exit Nadi customs you will walk out to a mall of resort travel agents. ask one there about minding your bags (probably wont need to but offer a small fee if needbe) as I've seen guests bags waiting in these previously. I don't think airports are allowed lockers for security reasons. Cheers, C.
