Looking for Advice on 2 weeks in Fiji – what to do

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I am planning a two week trip to Fiji (myself and husband, no kids). I am thinking about 5 or 6 nights in Yasawa islands and 5 or 6 nights in Mamanuca islands. I am worried this is a bit too much island/beach time. We will do a few days of diving, but we generally like to be pretty active- hiking, sight-seeing and such. Are there any great sights on the mainland worth seeing? I have to go back to the mainland to transfer between the islands, so it makes sense to break the trip up a bit. Any suggestions on where to stay in the islands is also appreciated!

Stay in the Yasawas and split your time between a couple of islands. It is not necessary to return to Viti Levu to change Islands, even to the Mamanukas.
Where to stay depends on the budget. There are lots of good choices.
There is plenty to do on Viti Levu, you could go inland or take a bus around the island in 3 or 4 days. Stop off at VoliVoli for a couple of days for good diving and fishing. Get Soni to take you inland.
Also Google "Rivers Fiji".
Or some of the other larger islands too.

Cheers,
Peter

I got board on Waya in the Yasawas after 5 days. I did enjoy the rainforest outside Suva, and exploring Suva, but that might not be everyone's thing.
