My route -any good?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hey all, Sorry I know there is alot of questions like this on this forum but feel a little over-whelmed by all the different things I am hearing about Fiji! Arrive 5 in the morning so thought I would head straight up to Blue Lagoon and stay in for 3 nights Any tips would be gladly received! I like chilling/exploring/having a few drinks but probably not partying too hard as this is near the end of my travels and I kind of just want to chill a bit. Thanks :)
I'd opt to go to Manta Ray - Otto & Fannys - Blue Lagoon - Octopus to break up the boat trips a bit. That way you'd also starting with the lowest quality resort and ending with the best two. Manta Ray is the only one of those that has a party atmosphere. I'd also do 4 nights at Blue Lagoon and 3 at Octopus, as BL is nicer and there's more to do in that area. Or do 4 nights at both and take away a night from the mainland. It works out cheapest to buy the Bula pass once you're in Fiji, so you may as well do that at the airport (if their office is open at 5am...). | 1
Agree with the order of previous reply, but would add an extra night at Manta Ray if you want to maximise your chances of snorkelling with the mantas. We just spent 3 nights, arrived just as the boat was returning from snorkelling, got to see the mantas the next day----great viewing and very exciting, but, depending on what time of day the mantas show up, you might have to get on the boat to the next resort before the mantas appear. That certainly would have been the case had we spent only one night. Great snorkelling right off the beach for coral and tropical fish, and no hard partying while we were there, just a few social drinks----very pleasant! | 2
Great thanks so much for the advice! Going to look at booking in some nights soon cheers | 3
sorry another question!! thanks!! | 4
Heading back to Nadi the day before your flight should be sufficient. If the weather is being really sketchy, only then should you consider heading back more than a day in advance. Pre-booking is always advisable for Octopus & Blue Lagoon. They're always busy. | 5
