Nadi airport to Yasawa Flyer - 3 hours enough time?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

My husband and I are honeymooning in Fiji in July and want to start off in the Yasawas. We land at Nadi airport at 5:30am on a Sunday and are wondering if we'll have enough time to make it through customs, collect our bags and cab to Denarau to catch the 8:30am Yasawa Flyer? Are there other modes of transport up to the Yasawas besides a chartered plane? Thanks!

3 hours should be plenty of time.
There is the new seaplane service with

it has reasonable prices compared to the helicopters.
We had just a 45 minute time to final check in coming back from the islands on South Sea Cruises and just made it with 2 minutes to spare a couple of weeks ago.
Should have been plenty of time but one couple took 15 minutes to walk the 100 meters from the boat to the bus and the driver stopped and gave way to everyone in his path!!!!

Just to let you know that at about 6.50 a.m. every morning, there is a free shuttle that will take you to the Yasawa Flyer, assuming you have bought a ticket to actually journey on the flyer. The office for Awesome Adventures opens at 6 a.m. OR SO.

In theory, if your plane lands on time, and customs take the average time, then you should be fine. In theory.

You can buy Yasawa ferry tickets at the Awesome Adventures office, although if you're planning a multi day trip on the flyer, it's probably best to organise things ahead of time.

If your plane is on time yes you'll be fine

Thanks for your input, everyone! I've booked our passage on the Flyer. Fingers crossed our plane arrives on time and we have a smooth experience at customs!

The queue at Immigration, rather than customs, will be the issue. You should be fine. It's 20 mins or so by taxi.
