Nadi midnight arrival& Accomodation Help

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hello <All ;-)
My friend and I (2 girls) take a flight from Samoa and arrive at 1:35 in Nadi.
We would like to spend one night in Nadi and then next day head for Yasawa islands.
So all we need is to spend just one night(morning) at the cheap and OK accomodation with
free transportation or cheap shuttle bus or arranged car service from the accomodation where we stay.

Any suggestion ? Any hostel or hotel or B&B recommendation? Any adivice? Please....

Or if the airport is open 24hrs and kill time 4hrs or so at the cafe or restaurant at the airport,
it is OK for us. Is it possible or the airport is closed after the last flight?

Thank you very much for your reply in advance

The airport is open 24 hours, and you would probably not be the only people staying in the departure area. It is not particularly nice though (not bad either, just spartan), and cafes/shops do close at night.

If you are going on the Flyer the next morning from Denarau the transfers to the port from hotels or airport are included in the boat ticket. You can book and pay online (South Sea Cruises) with details of your pickup.

Thanks your reply< Laszlo and margkids!
All right, we are not the only one nor Robinson at the airport ;-)
I checked some hostels in Nadi and there are some free pick-up service at anytime.

My girlfriend and I are staying at Smuggler's Cove, which runs free shuttles to and from the airport. It's quite affordable, and they have an even cheaper sister resort (Horizon Backpackers) right next door if you want to save some cash. They've got a really helpful tour company there too, who will be glad to help you arrange transfers.

I've booked my entire trip through them, and they've been really helpful.

I highly recommend Bluewater Lodge. Small and quiet.
I also stayed at Aquarius, but it definitely isn't as nice.
Lots of the people I talked to that stayed at Smugglers Cove were keen to stay elsewhere...

All 3 of those places are more or less beside each other.

the fastest wasy to a close by bed is to literally walk straight out front of the airport to the hotel accross the the road and all share a room, then the Flyer bus comes by at the bus stop right out front about 7.30ish, ive stayed there before and its fine but ask for a room thats not on the airside as theres departures through the night. forget the hotel name sorry!

it's Raffles Gateway Hotel, costs about $90AUD
