| anonymous21:39 UTC25 Jan 2007 | Hey- my 6 backpacker friends and I are still trying to sort out our plan for when we arrive in Fiji in mid april. We were thinking of maybe staying Nananu island lodge as it seems like good fun and is reasonably priced. Anyone been there and got some advice for me???? Thanks from Ireland x x x

| newfie4304:57 UTC27 Jan 2007 | We stayed here for 1 night (had booked for 5) in September'06 and would not recommend it. However we are not backpackers but had booked the family cottage and so our viewpoint will probably differ from others. The accommodation did not live up to the website presentation - cold water, no 24 hour electricity and the refrigerator was a deep freeze(which was off overnight). I guess the deep freeze would be good for beer but we had brought groceries with us in anticipation of making some meals. The evening buffet ($18FJN) was not very good nor abundant. We were told to be on time or there may not be much left! The setting could not be more beautiful - a lovely beach and hiking to other great spots. With a group of you and being prepared to "rough it" it might be just the place for you. On our way back to Nadi we talked to several people who were leaving as well - they were not overly impressed and had left after a night or two. Maybe someone else who stayed as a backpacker will be able to give you a different view.
