| irmasaray2409:21 UTC17 Feb 2007 | Hello everyone!!!
My name is Saray and I'm from Spain.
I'm going to Fiji at 22 of March to stay 6 days (5nights). I'm interested in stay in Yasawa islands and I know that I have to spend the first night in Nadi because my flight arrive at 16:00h and the only trasnfer departs at 9am.
I've been looking for cheap hotels in these islands and I've found some, but I have doubts because when I look for information about these hotels in some ratings say that are incredibles and the others say are horribles...I think that it change about the year...So I'd like to know RECENT things about good and cheap hotels in Yasawa or mamanuca islands.
I'm interested about David's Place or Nabua Lodge or Manuka backpackers resort or Coral View beach.... If you have stayed in some of these places, please explain me your experience...Or if you have stayed in yasawa islands, I'd love to read your history too And your suggestions...
Thank you very much!! Ah!!Dou you Know if there are security lookers in the airport?Because we have a lot of baggage.

I don't know how secure it is if you are especially security conscious. On the islands you really only need a day pack worth of stuff, more luggage than that is a hassle.
We were at coral view 2 weeks ago and it was fantastic, however, basic. The staff are really friendly, the hammocks are comfy, the diving was said to be good, the dorms were clean and the bathrooms were fine just outside which was kinda cool. There wasn't any hot water but that wasn't something to be missed. The atmosphere was really great too.
The only place I would really avoid was Kuata, although the scenery is beautiful the place is a bit dodgy in terms of food and security.

We also stayed at Otto & Fanny's which is next-door to David's - Oarsman's had a wider, whiter sand beach, very nice double bungalows, as well as dorms, plenty of shade, good snorkeling off the beach, floats for the water, kayaks, very friendly atmosphere, great sunset views (whereas David's faces east). Food was fine, not great, but insignificant considering how nice the rest of our stay there was.
Not sure what you consider cheap, but Octopus was fabulous in every way and their cost is about the same as the other places we stayed. Dorm bed with 3 meal plan was ~$F 85. The dorms were the best I'd seen anywhere. Food was great, pool, snorkeling off the wide white beach, closer to Nadi.
