Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

hey there guys,

i will be arriving in fiji in a week and i need to figure out at least wehre to spend my first few days, i arrive super early but i dont wnat to waste money to book a place so i am jsut goingto head out to the outer islands, but there are so many places to choose from i really dont know how to figure out wehre to stay...........

im looking for a great beach, snorkelling, other travellers, some relaxation, traditional style accom. and somewhat sucluded, not a party place like beachcomber!!!!

if you can help that would be great, thanks

In general, the Mamnucas (the closer ones) are more developed. The further ones, the Yasawas, have less development, and less partying on most of them.

keep in mind that the boat to the Yasawas (if thats where you are planning on heading) leaves at 9am so you may have to have one nights accomodation in Nadi... I would start as far north as you can (last stop on the flyer) spent the majority of your time there and slowerly work south, Coral View is gold...Kuata has great scenery but is a bit dodgy-has a nice beach though.
