Need Help where to stay

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

My Husband and I are going on our first real vacation and where better than Fiji! But the downfall is our travel agent isn't too helpful. We are staying for 7 days and here is what we are looking for:
a private secluded beaches nothing too touristy
Beautiful beaches great for swimming and snorkeling
Affordable we want to stay under $5000 including airfare from LAX
we love the beachfront bures but understand it may be out of budget
clean resorts and a big plus would be an outdoor shower
we don't mind staying a 2 different resorts
we would love to see any waterfalls or beautiful scenery
Prefer adults only we are a young couple but are not looking for the party night life
somewhere we feel like we have the beach to ourselves even if that isn't the case.
Thanks for all the help!

Not very big.

Hi, yep sounds just like you definitely want, and I'll bet, will love Fiji's Yasawa Island Group and any of the small boutique resorts scattered up the island chain. Nanuya and Octopus would be two great picks. Arrive into Nadi and depending on time overnight at one of the big chain hotels then get the Yellow Boat vessel up the 4 hour run stopping at each picture perfect spot every 20-30 minutes or so arriving at lunch time up the top and then punt boat into Nanuya for a great couple of days there (alternately try Octopus's sister resort in the area Blue Lagoon Beach Resort) then break the journey half way back stopping into Octopus Resort eventually rejoining this homeward trip when you leave there arriving back in about 6pm. Octopus has a range of accm choices and a nice choice mid range is the Premium Garden Bures. All the islands attract a slightly more adventurous crowd and you get plenty of time to interact and enjoy time with lots of fun folks over drinks or at shared tables meal time. Awesome outdoor showers contained within each bure are a common inclusion up that way. My only other comment would be probably go anytime other than Feb/March which to my surprise seems to be the only quite wet time of year (I was keen to go there myself immediately but seeing the weather forecasts for around now I've decided to hold off for a bit). Anyways, glad to share your interest and have a really great time - it is very hard not to! I'm sure you'll tripadvisor both places and see what others also say about them, and other great choices up the Yasawas. Cheers, C.
