I have no idea!!!
Now the planning begins. We have 2 weeks to mess around with.
My only preference is that we stay away from the screaming children/families.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm,,, I am not the best person to ask that as I travel with my young daughter :-) so we naturally migrate to children.

Not sure what you are wanting to experience but we have backpacked on the coral coast before and stayed at The Beachouse. Its not your standard backpackers as the layout is great and its right on the beach and it has a really nice pool and bar area. We were the only ones there older than 30 and younger than 12, but we still fitted in. I have read that older couples head there as well as well as the odd family but its mainly adults / singles etc.

We rented a cottage so kept away from dorms making our experience better for us.

Plus if you base yourself on the coral coast you have access to do much more than other places in Fiji.

The coral coast has it all but you have to move around to experience it.

There is awesome snorkelling but you have to know where to go and who to contact. There is horseriding waterfall tour by the land owner that you can do. You can visit a authentic village and sit with locals drinking Kava (traditional drink) and experience a real fijian lovo...(fijian food cooked in a underground oven) Dont try them at the resorts,, they are adjusted for the western palate and its not the same and not as good.
The best beach on Viti Levu is on that side of the island. There is a pottery village and the sigatoka sand dunes there as well.
Plus you are close to Pacific Harbour which is the adventure capital of Fiji offering water sports, fishing, diving etc.

Here is the link of a post I recently added giving details / directions
