one week in fiji

hi there i am staying in fiji for a week and wondered if anyone could recommend any good hostels to stay in I have been advised to go to rendez-vous is it any good? I am travelling on my own so would appreciate any advice on activities and where to do them. I like surfing, scuba and mountain biking (dont know if you can do the last one). I always find word of mouth recommendations better than guidebooks.
