one week in Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hiya folks, just looking for some advice. I'm flying into Fiji for a week 14th > 21st Jan and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good hostel to stay at or suggested itinery?. I'm travelling alone so somewhere a bit social would be great. any advice would be much appreciated! thanks in advance, love life, Jamie

I just came back from spending Christmas and New Year in Fiji it was fantastic, i stayed at the beachcomber with is full of backpackers, its a bit more lively there to and not to far get to. Its expensive but worth it. I also stayed at the Beach house on the coral coast, the resort there was also nice there and cheap and had a nice atmosphere and there was always something to do. I got my advise on where to go off of here to and i had a wicked time.

Mana Island and Bounty are good 2 as are the OPs suggestions above. Cruise this site and u will get loads of good advise

I returned in a storm from a resort on the Yasawas (superb location) but advise you to watch your luggage and keep it strapped to you at all times. My laptop and camera was stolen by a member of the crew and a fellow traveller also had her mobile phone stolen from her bag. It has soured my impression of Fiji. The people are very poor and although pleasant would stab you in the back at the slightest opportunity.
