places l can recommend in fijiCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
recently back from 2 weeks in fiji with 2 other adult females. had the time of our lives and could't have been happier with fiji. stayed at Treasure Island (great for all ages and families), beach comber( for the young and those that want to feel young), first landing resort, Blue Lagoon Cruise. would highly recommend all these places. also went to Suva to visit a friend for a few nights but wouldn't bother to go there again, would rather stick with the nice, tourist areas of Fiji espically the islands. Had fun with the kava where ever we went. may l suggest that if buying duty free, buy it in fiji, not in Aus as it a lot cheaper at the fiji airport. also try not to have too much fiji cash to exchange back to aus, cause we got buggar all for the $ when exchanging back.(first time travellers and we had no idea about how these things work). all the food in fiji was different but managed to find things we liked. because tourism in slow in fiji you can get some great deals espically if you can contact resorts direct, if posssible go for the meal plans, other wise meals can be expensive. will look forward to going back there.
Hi, Kymmy, | 1 | |
l supose suva just wasn't my thing as l lam not into busy cities or shopping. Was pleased that l experienced it but next time would stick to being pampered at the touristy places. when in suva though you have to go on a bus, just for the heck of it. No windows and loud music is just the norm, and for 30-60 cents will be a highlight of the trip!! When at the market be careful not to get lured in to the little rooms that the stall holders have, it can be very difficult to get out of there without spending and they can be so so pushy, espically the India stall holders.have a wonderful time. look foerward to hearing about it. At this stage I am not sure when I will be going, as my travel companion has just got a permanent job, and won't have holidays for a while. | 3
